Martin Garrix

Martin Garrix is a global phenomenon. At 17 he became the youngest DJ to headline the Ultra Music Festival and has been ranked number one on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list for three consecutive years. Given the opportunity to create his new identity, I went back to the Dutch artist’s roots, pulling inspiration from Holland’s capital city flag. A shared character in the artist’s name anchored the word marks, but could also be isolated as a pair of dynamic characters. The result, while simplistic, resonated instantly with Garrix and his team and they were off to the races, building their own versions of the mark.
Since the project, the mark has appeared prominently in Garrix’s elaborate stage show, served as a consistent element in several of his singles, followed him to his first Vegas residency and adorned the skin of some very loyal fans.

Created at BBH Los Angeles.
